“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” ― Henry David Thoreau, Walden
New juicy challenges come up regularly as I continue to step into this new direction for my coaching business – empowering introverts to honor our style with unapologetic abandon and when we do this we soar. While passionate and driven to bring this message to all who would benefit I am also bumping up against my introverted tendency to be low key – especially when it comes to paid coaching services. So what does all this have to do with Thoreau’s quote? Good question!
I was walking through the woods yesterday chasing the leaves that were falling from the trees. It is a fun game I enjoy this time of year. The game is deceptively difficult as the leaves change direction without the slightest hint. After doing this for a few minutes and only catching one leaf I turn around and looked up. There were endless leaves dancing to the ground and a number of them danced right into my outstretched hands without effort. Nature was communicating with me. Change my perspective. Rather than chase after what is ahead notice what is behind me.
How would you benefit from a change of perspective in your life?
